How We Do It
Investigation and Research
To guarantee the quality of any
translation, we undertake an initial investigation into:
- Terminology
- Localization to produce a product that can cross language
and cultural barriers, such as place names, measurements, flora
and fauna, customs etc.
- Initial translation and any queries arising
- Revision, editing and proofreading: grammar, punctuation,
syntax, style etc.
Schedules
To guarantee the above quality, we prefer not to take on rushed
translations as this often lowers the quality of the translation so
we kindly ask our clients to organise the delivery of the source
text on the date agreed so that we can deliver the target text on
the estimated date.
- Delays in presenting the source text on time will lead to
delays in delivery.
- Urgent translations will be charged extra (50% +) depending
on the urgency.
Format
The preferred format for receipt of documents is Word. If PDF
documents are supplied there will be an additional charge of 25%.
Translated documents required in special format also have an
additional cost.
Contract
Once all the information is acquired, a contract will be sent
stipulating work to be done, size of text, due dates, fees etc.
Any
change to the initial contract will be estimated at a new price.
Payment of Fees
Once the translated text is ready, half of it will be sent to
show that the work has been completed. On receipt of the full
payment, the second half will be sent.
Payment can be made through Paypal, postal giro, or bank
transfer. Cash only if local.
